The Details

Many of us love getting a new skin on our favourite champ. But how’s it fair that some companies are selling you a cosmetic worth £8 but then forcing you to buy £10 worth of in-game currency.

Often you get left with just enough in-game currency left over to bait you into topping up again, but no way to refund your left-over credit. Gaming purchases shouldn’t have to be like a trip to a dodgy fairground.

In-game currencies can be a fun way to earn some loot, and there is nothing wrong with having some offers on it. But what’s isn’t fair are systems that leave your feeling fleeced.

There are some laws such as the Consumer Rights Act 2015 that in theory give Gamers some protection around transparency in terms and pricing. The question is though why aren’t these being enforced?
